In this position, you will support Pharmacy Supply Chain operations to optimize pharmacy automation and systems, with the goal of providing efficient, timely, accurate pharmacy services. This position is day/evening rotating shift. Every other weekend required and holidays as required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist pharmacy leadership in the advancement of pharmacy operations, automated dispensing systems and the continuous improvement of the program
  • Performs principal duties and responsibilities of a pharmacy technician
  • Inventory modifications to Omnicell cabinets secondary to newly added or deleted formulary items, and/or drug shortage mitigation
  • Supports Omnicell/Pyxis daily operations by serving as a resource for both pharmacy and nursing staff; responding to requests for assistance; troubleshooting daily operational problems as they arise
  • Resolves billing discrepancies/errors daily
  • Assists with coordination, ordering and delivery of new Omnicell/Pyxis equipment to include refrigerator locking devices (Flexlocks, etc). This includes the assembly of the new cabinets upon arrival and configuring the PCs for the CCHS network
  • Collects and documents system problems identified by staff and refers to supervisor for direction and resolution
  • Assist with configuration of new Omnicell/Pyxis hardware including which drugs should be stocked, how the drawers should be arranged, setting up max and pars and assigning medications
  • Synchronizes ADT information between PharmNet and Omnicell/Pyxis/Swisslog. Performs new unit/room build and testing in Omnicell/ Pyxis to correspond with hospital changes
  • Performs functional testing of all Omnicell/Pyxis upgrades in the test system prior to go-live. Note areas where the functionality doesn't match our current operations so that the new processes can be developed. Assists with the testing of changes to hospital applications that affect Pharmacy Services
  • Ensure application of monthly Microsoft updates
  • Perform functions at the Logistics Center Pharmacy to include daily cartfill, replenishing Swisslog Automation, packaging/pre-packing medications to maintain par levels, processing and filling office practice orders, and updating expiration dates and inventory levels of stock medication
  • Use appropriate PPE for handling chemotherapy medications and other hazardous agents
  • Perform cycle counting of inventories to validate inventory levels and coordinate the acquisition of items.
  • Fill in as an inpatient pharmacy technician as needed
  • Provides coverage for absences in other areas of the pharmacy as needed and appropriate
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required
  • At least one year of acute care inpatient hospital pharmacy experience preferred
  • Basic typing skills required; Computer experience preferred (e.g., window-based programs)

Hourly Pay Range: $19.84 - $29.76 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
