POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Paralegal works with the Legal Department staff on all legal and compliance matters as assigned by the General Counsel. The Corporate Paralegal/Litigation and Employment Law isa person qualified through education, training or work experience toassist in managing legal processes, preparing documentation, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate wouldbe detailed oriented andpossess strong organizational, research and communication skills.


Responsibilities

  • Assistsinternal and external counsel in managing litigation matters, including discovery, case management, and trial preparation.
  • Assistsin responding to subpoenas,demand letters, and other legal requestsfrom regulatory agencies.
  • Conductscomplexlegal research, drafts high stakes findings,and summarizesfindings related to employment law and litigation.
  • Preparesand reviewslegal documents, including contracts, pleadings, position statements, and internal policiesbased on changes in the law and regulations.
  • Maintainsand organizescase files, legal databases, and document repositories.
  • Coordinateswith HR, Compliance, Securityand other departments on employment-rela and just asked me to processthetedlegal issues, including investigations, compliance, and training.
  • Managesdeadlines and ensurestimely filings and responses.
  • Assistswith risk assessments related to employment practices and litigation exposure.
  • Analyzes legal documentsto provide relevant information.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Associate's degree or certificate from ABA-approved paralegal school.
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Paralegal in a corporate office or law firm environment.
  • Must have experience focused on litigation and employment law.
  • Previous corporate healthcare experience, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and document management systems.Must have knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software programs
  • Keen discretion and professionalism in maintaining confidential information
  • Management of competing priorities independently.
  • Knowledge of e-discovery platforms and legal software, preferred.
