Job Description

Our Manufacturing Engineering team is looking for a Project Lead who will be primarily responsible for of the coordination and communication between the appropriate working groups within the organization for critical to business orders. This role is tasked with ensuring that all critical to business projects and milestones are completed per the schedule laid out and agreed to by the organization's leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Ensure design, process router, tooling, CNC programming, etc. are all completed on time for critical components.
  • Attend meetings to provide status on projects, orders, customer issues, etc.
  • Update Critical to Business (CTB) Engineering tracking list every day for all jobs listed in each item's BOM.
  • Monitor production jobs to ensure jobs are maintaining committed schedule.
  • Facilitate removal of road blocks to schedule adherence.
  • Track tooling requirements based on Tooling Request System and work with the tool room to have tooling completed in time to support the CTB committed schedule.
  • Review purchase requisitions for any special tooling or gaging required and ensure delivery of tooling or gaging coincides with required date of manufacturing.
  • Communicate to Purchasing when CTB jobs are approaching the OP operations to assist with advanced notification to sub-contractors
  • Work with Purchasing to keep OP processes on schedule
  • Work with Source Inspection to ensure FAI and APQP paperwork is complete
  • Notify Management and Production Control of any concerns about a job slipping in the schedule for any reason.
  • Chair bi-weekly CTB review meetings to monitor schedule adherence.
  • As necessary, support direct customer meetings and discussions regarding CTB projects.

  • Ability to function professionally, well organized and able to work effectively and efficiently in a high volume production environment.
  • Ability to work across departments and navigate conflict.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word and Power Point).
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and track execution of complex projects, with the ability to make recommendations and influence both up and down throughout the organization.


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field; Masters preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in manufacturing, technical or project management work either within NHBB or the bearing and/or aerospace industries (preferred).
  • Minimum of two + (2+) years' experience in setting and executing to schedules in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success of managing complex projects with firm deadlines.


Physical Requirements:



  • May include: prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, walking, bending, talking, and using a telephone.
  • Ability to travel, as needed (occasional).
