Optum Insight is seeking a strategic and highly collaborative leader to serve as the VP of Government Programs & HHS Strategic Coordination. This role will coordinate enterprise-wide efforts across Optum Insight, Optum Health, Optum Rx, and UnitedHealthcare on key product and technology initiatives responding to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), including CMS, CMMI.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Translate emerging policy, rulemaking, and innovation into actionable product strategies across Optum businesses
  • Partner with product, growth, regulatory and market leaders to shape enterprise positions that both influence and anticipate regulatory direction.
  • Serve as a strategic connector between HHS/CMS stakeholders and Optum product teams to ensure regulatory insight informs solution design
  • Policy, Proposed Rule, RFI/RFP, and Federal Opportunity Alignment
  • Internal Communication & Governance

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience working with CMS, CMMI, HHS, or federal health programs
  • Experience navigating matrixed organizations
  • Proven understanding of Optum Insight Product portfolio
  • Proven understanding of federal program structures and health IT policy
  • Proven solid communication skills
  • Ability to travel 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated background in federal health IT policy or CMS transformation initiatives
  • Experience with federal RFIs/RFPs
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Optum Insight products
  • Unified enterprise coordination on HHS/CMS initiatives
  • Ability to strengthen federal relationships
  • Proactive identification of opportunities and risks
  • High-quality communication and streamlined processes

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $159,300 to $273,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
