Overview

Waters Corporation is seeking an energetic and motivated Engineering Summer Intern to join our Process and Automation Engineering Team to support the engineering, productivity, and enhancement of our new state-of-the-art chemical manufacturing plant. In this role, you will develop technical expertise in our operations and work on designing, implementing, and continuously improving our manufacturing processes and equipment, as well as many other exciting projects across the site.



Responsibilities

    Acquire knowledge of multiple chemical and physical processes throughout our manufacturing facility.
  • Assist engineers with troubleshooting and providing technical support for the daily operation of the manufacturing plant, as well as during new equipment commissioning and startup, to ensure high product quality, safety, and minimal downtime.
  • Gather and organize data for the engineering department.
  • Collaborate with more senior engineers in the commissioning, startup, and validation of chemical process equipment systems.
  • Aid the Engineering team with their daily tasks.
  • Any other tasks as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Current student pursuing Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, or recent graduate with Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering required.
  • 0-3 years of experience in the chemical manufacturing industry is a plus, but not required.
  • Knowledge of and experience with batch reaction chemistry, solids filtration, powder drying processes, handling of large quantities of acids and solvents, and distillation processes is a plus.
  • The candidate must be motivated, flexible, a quick learner, and must exhibit critical thinking abilities.
  • The ability to interact within a multi-disciplinary team and have good oral & written communications skills is required.
