Job Title: Investor Relations & Corporate Development Senior Associate

What you'll do: As an Investor Relations & Corporate Development Senior Associate reports to the Investor Relations and Corporate Development Director and plays a key role in supporting the development and execution of Western Alliance Bank's Investor Relations program. The role's primary objective is to enhance shareholder engagement, ensure the investment community receives a clear understanding of the company's strategy and performance, and contribute analytical support to achieve a fair relative valuation. In addition to IR responsibilities, the Associate will support corporate development, strategic finance initiatives, and enterpriselevel strategic planning. This position will partner closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Investor Relations leadership, and other senior leaders across the organization. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, polished communication skills, and an ability to build highquality materials for executive and Board audiences.
- Partners closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Investor Relations leadership team to support tactical execution of the Bank's investor relations program and corporate finance initiatives.
- Support Western Alliance's investor relations activities, including analytical workstreams, peer benchmarking, financial and valuation analysis, industry/market trend research, and preparing insightful materials for senior leaders and the Board of Directors.
- Contribute to the development and creation of Western Alliance's messaging to the investment community, including earnings materials, investor decks, Q&A preparation, conference materials, and ongoing written and visual communications.
- Assist Directors and Managers in interpreting market dynamics such as competitive actions, valuation drivers, capital markets trends, and investor sentiment; support internal communication of these implications.
- Support relationship development with current, prospective, and target investors, equity research analysts, and internal stakeholders. Conduct analyses that identify opportunities to broaden and strengthen shareholder engagement.
- Analyze and evaluate M&A and partnership opportunities, including building pro forma financial analyses, supporting due diligence, assessing valuation, and contributing to strategic assessments of inorganic and organic growth options. Collaborate with Corporate Finance teams on capital management alternatives (e.g., dividends, share repurchases, balance sheet optimization).
- Contribute to Western Alliance's annual Strategic Plan process, including researching industry, economic, and regulatory trends; performing market analyses; coordinating with business unit leaders; and developing Boardlevel strategic planning materials.
- Serve as a core analytical resource to the CFO, assisting with adhoc financial analysis, research, scenario modeling, and development of executiveready presentation materials.
- Support cross-functional strategic initiatives by working with Strategy, Finance, Business Unit leadership, and other internal teams to align execution with corporate objectives.
- Comfortable with a 10-15% travel schedule to attend offsite executive planning sessions and to attend various banking & industry aligned conferences to gather industry insights.
What you'll need:
- 3+ years of related experience in investment banking, strategy & operations consulting or internal corporate development role with a focus on the financial services sector. or similar field.
- Bachelor's degree in related field required.
- Entry level to intermediate knowledge of corporate finance, including financial statement analysis, financial modeling, M&A accounting, and valuation techniques.
- Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
- Occasional travel required.
