Responsibilities

Controller responsibilities include but are not limited to:

A key member of the management team responsible for all accounting operations of the company location, including the production of periodic financial reports in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and maintenance of accounting records and financial controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley. Responsible for preparation fo the annual budget and establishment of a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy and usefulness of the company's financial and operational results.

  • Preparation of detailed monthly financial statements in compliance with GAAP

  • Preparation of weekly financial estimates, budget-to-actual comparisons, KPI reports and other financial and operational analyses and reporting as required
  • Monitor financial results and key performance indicators and identify, explain and develop solutions to improve overall performance
  • Preparation of annual budget in consolation with management teams
  • Conduct thorough reviews, reporting, and reconciliations of inventory on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis; partner with team members to address and explain variances
  • Maintain and create journal entries in general ledger including all necessary reconciliations
  • Administer AR functions for the business
  • Administer AP functions for the business insuring accurate coding of invoices and maintenance of the Chart of Accounts
  • Interface with vendors as needed
  • Coordinate the provision of information to the parent company

  • Actively engage with operations and division management to foster collaboration and efficiency

  • Recommend policies and procedures relating to the financial and business practices of the company

  • Address special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness

  • Other duties as assigned

This is an on-site position. Daily presence required outside of scheduled time off and / or unforeseen circumstances.



Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Controller position should possess the following:

  • BS Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent in experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting position is required, preferably in a direct marketing-driven environment. General ledger experience

  • Demonstrated ability to develop financial presentations and provide modeling analysis

  • Excellent computer skills, MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power-Point)

  • Experience with AS400 and other web based systems

  • Excellent strategic thinking and evaluation skills

  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to build successful relationships within the team and across the parent company organization

  • Ability to effectively present information to an individual or group, both written and verbally
