ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES





The Maintenance Training Instructor / Developer is responsible to the Manager of Maintenance Training for instructing Maintenance and Quality Control personnel in maintenance policies and procedures, to properly maintain Omni Air International's aircraft. They are qualified through training and experience on the equipment, systems, policies and procedures taught. Duties shall include, but are not limited to the following:







  • Organize and conduct initial and recurrent training classes for Basic Indoctrination, General Familiarization, RII, RVSM, and other classes as determined by the Director of Maintenance and Director of Quality Control
  • Develop and revise training material as needed to meet operational requirements.
  • Develop and provide recurrent training classes as needed
  • Maintain vendor training files for aircraft refueling, pushback, de-ice, and lavatory/potable water servicing
  • Maintain FAA license verification for OMNI Air International and contract maintenance personnel
  • Develop syllabuses and provide instruction on Maintenance Policies and procedures to company and contract personnel
  • Develop classes on trouble shooting systems as needed for better trouble shooting techniques
  • Maintain training records for company maintenance and contract personnel
  • Develop and provide recurrent training classes as needed
  • Coordinate with other departments in providing training for personnel at new stations prior to the opening as well as recurrent training for contract maintenance related personnel at the stations
  • Develop and provide structured OJT programs for Maintenance and Quality Control.
  • Provide technical assistance to other departments as directed by the Manager of Training
  • Must report to work on a regular and timely basis
  • Perform on-aircraft maintenance training
  • Perform other incidental duties as may be assigned




QUALIFICATIONS





  • Demonstrated knowledge of FAA Regulations
  • 2 years previous experience as Aircraft Maintenance Instructor
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
  • Strong Avionics/Electrical background required
  • Strong communication skills including verbal and written
  • Organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to pass a 10-year Background/Criminal check and pre-employment drug screen

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.






EXPOSURE TO ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS





  • Work near mechanical parts - less than 1/3 of time
  • Work with or near chemicals - less than 2/3 of time




EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE





  • High school diploma or GED required
  • A&P License preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of aviation related work experience




PHYSICAL ACTIVITY





  • Arm and hand steadiness and finger dexterity enough to use computer/office equipment
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, and pulling of up to 50 lbs.
  • Sit - 80%
  • Stand - 10%
  • Walk - 10%
  • Travel - Two to three weeks per year




MENTAL CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS





  • Ability to handle numerous activities at once and complete in a timely manner
  • Work with limited supervision and possess an impeccable attention to detail, excellent customer service and organizational skills required
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information skillfully
  • Makes day-to-day decisions used to support the operation which impacts the department's credibility
  • Ability to compose outlines, memoranda, basic reports, and instructional information
  • Ability to communicate basic instructions and guidelines, requires ability to hear and speak effectively
