We are seeking a Generated Gas Supervisor for the 250T ASU located in Petersburg, VA. The facility produces gaseous oxygen, liquid oxygen, and crude argon.

The Site Supervisor will be part of a two-person team supporting all aspects of day-to-day plant operations. Responsibilities include customer and business interfacing, safety and environmental compliance, maintenance budgeting, and employee training. The successful candidate will be required to develop a detailed understanding of all aspects of site operations, distribution, and maintenance activities, with a strong emphasis on leadership. Effective communication and strong organizational skills are critical for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of the site's Basic Safety Process and Process Safety Management with a focus on the company's efforts to strive to a goal of zero injuries.
  • Ensuring environmental compliance in accordance with Air Products Corporate and Governmental Regulations.
  • Understanding safe operating, design, and permit limits.
  • Supporting all aspects of the day-to-day operations to include troubleshooting plant process problems, supervising daily plant activities, and handling plant projects.
  • Identifying maintenance concerns; then developing and implementing corrective measures with the maintenance team as well as carrying out site preventive maintenance and mechanical integrity programs.
  • Implementing and sharing best practices.
  • Investigating incidents and near misses which includes understanding and correcting the root cause of failures.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • A degree in engineering or in a technical field is a plus but not required. Applicable experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • 5+ years of relevant operations/maintenance experience in an industrial plant is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • A self-starter with confirmed leadership skills and ability to develop talent.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Strong administrative/digital literacy
  • This is a safety sensitive position.
