Summary:
The successful candidate will be an expert in Forming Fabric construction and application, responsible as the customer facing Forming Fabric Application Specialist. This role includes regular travel to papermill production sites in support of local Sales, with total travel up to 50%. Regular visits/meetings at the Shreveport Forming Fabric plant to coordinate with internal Application also required. The amount of overnight travel will be dependent upon location.
Responsibilities - Support Forming Fabric Sales Growth By:
- North American Forming Fabric Application lead for specific paper grade(s) and/or specific geographic area.
- Collaboration with field Sales/Service personnel to obtain the necessary paper machine and competitor fabric information for application and production success. Ensure this information is documented in a systematic way in relevant systems (JDE, GV, Salesforce, etc.) so that it is available for Internal Application and Manufacturing.
- Providing value to customers with a strong working knowledge of the paper-making process,specifically the Former and Forming Fabric functionality. Responsible for identifying specific requirements needed to prepare recommendations and present the proposal directly to the customer where needed.
- Coordinate with local Sales on regular product reviews.
- Developing (with Sales and Key Account Management), supporting and executing specific sales plans for identified growth accounts / positions. Take an active leadership role as required to grow Forming Fabric sales.
- Presenting new products, technologies or concepts to sales, service and customers. Posses sufficient paper-making knowledge to corelate Forming Fabric features to specific customer benefits.
- Stay current with competitor designs and add-ons.
- Identify and communicate needed developments with Manufacturing / R&D.
- Providing product training and supporting technical service.
- Assisting with trial planning, trial evaluation and Continuous Improvement (CI) estimation and documentation.
- Work with Manufacturing/Quality department in complaints and Claims.
Education and Experience:
- Technical / Engineering degree an asset
- 5+ years of related experience in Forming Fabric application of or papermaking.
- Experience working enterprise systems such as SAP, JDE, IBM/Lotus Notes, Salesforce and Microsoft Office products.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to safely work in paper-mill environments - climbing catwalks and taking measurements around the Former in loud / hot / humid conditions
- Office time involves prolonged periods working on a computer.
- Travel up to 50% is expected, including driving to locations within about 6 hours.
