Overview
The Director, Trade is responsible for managing SK Life Science's relationship with wholesalers, distributors, overseeing our specialty pharmacies and 3PL vendor relationship, including liaising with internal stakeholders involved in the order-to-cash process and monitoring daily wholesaler inventory levels, stockouts, shortages, trade customer agreements, and chargeback operations.
Responsibilities
Be the main point of contact for 3PL, accountable for all 3PL operations, including customer, EDI, product set-up, reporting and on-going maintenance. Accountable for coordination among internal teams (SCM, Finance, Government Pricing and IT) to ensure seamless operation and all needs are met
- Manage wholesaler inventory levels, orders and shipments, partnering with wholesaler buyers on wholesaler engagement and shipment planning. Monitor and communicate trends, changes, and anomalies in sales out and pipeline as appropriate
- Oversee trade customer agreements including calculation of monthly distribution service agreement fees
- Manage chargeback operations with 3PL team and internal government pricing and contracts and pricing teams
- Administer and manage returned goods processes including monitoring trends at a customer and product level
- Maintain data aggregator relationship and monitor 852 and 867 data; coordinate with finance on revenue projections
- Partner with Supply Chain and Commercial Operations to coordinate inventory levels, attend monthly meeting for forecasting future inventory levels, days on hand with respect to specifically with supply chain
- Work with state licensing vendor to keep state distribution licenses up to date
- Manage product supply in the channel, evaluating inventory levels and product movement
- Negotiate and execute channel contracts (distributors, specialty distributors and specialty pharmacies)
- Hold customers and vendors accountable to Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements throughout term of contracts
- Develop distribution data reporting platform, secure reporting partners and lead data management for accurate & timely reporting
- Lead all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Trade Operations - serve as primary point of contact for all trade and supply concerns with customers and internal partners
- Establish Trade policies and procedures and monitor SOPs with 3PL
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree required, MBA preferred
- At least 7+ years in the following:
- Pharmaceutical Trade Management
- Finance, Accounting, or Analytical Role
- Contracting and Pricing Experience
- Microsoft Excel, analysis tools, and query tools
- Current Pharmaceutical and Healthcare issues, structure, rules, and laws including DSCSA
- Vendor management
- Strategic thinker with ability to formulate, develop and execute strategy based on applied analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and interpret business issues/opportunities and make sound business judgments regarding solutions
- Able to make decisions that balance a variety of factors to achieve optimal outcomes
- Demonstrates confidence and able to effectively influence senior business leaders
