Role Summary: Reporting to the Purchasing & Pricing Manager, the Product Data Analyst is a key member of the Purchasing and Pricing team. This role partners with Category Management, vendors, and cross-functional teams to analyze product, pricing, inventory, and vendor performance data to support category strategies and operational goals. The position supports data governance processes, product enrichment, vendor dashboards, and performance insights to identify opportunities for improvement and growth. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Exciting work you will do:

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Product Data Analyst position will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in establishing and maintaining product data governance procedures and workflows to enhance customer experience.
  • Continuously improve and enrich product data to ensure attribute completeness.
  • Provide product analysis for various audiences such as Marketing, E-Commerce, Pricing, Operations, and Sales.
  • Support category objectives, vendor initiatives, and communications in alignment with strategic vendor performance plans.
  • Collaborating with vendors and third-party data providers.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining vendor dashboards to analyze key vendor performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide the Category Manager with category insights and analysis to inform vendor strategies and better capitalize on opportunities to ensure strategic alignments of vendors within markets.
  • Leverage cross-reference tables and vendor data to streamline product sourcing and substitution.
  • Facilitate analysis of data updates, cost changes, and related adjustments.
  • Analyze inventory breadth and depth from a strategic category perspective and track performance.
  • Analyze data to model and maximize vendor incentive programs.

What you'll need:
  • Work Experience: 2 years' of experience in electrical sales, data analysis, product data management, category management support, merchandising analytics, supply chain analytics, or a related business analytics role
  • Education: High School diploma or GED
  • Analytics/Computer Skills: Ability to use standard office equipment; strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel; strong analytical skills and experience with analysis or reporting tools
  • Organization Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed; ability to prioritize, document processes and track progress
  • Cross-functional skills: Self-motivated; good judgment and problem solving skills
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of the organization

Qualifications we prefer but don't require:

  • Work Experience: Electrical or pipe, valves and fitting product knowledge; knowledge of Product Information Management systems (PIM); Experience with Epicor Eclipse ERP System; Knowledge of SQL; Experience working with AI; Knowledge in Power BI or other data visualization apps
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, statistics, business, computer science or related degree
