About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Life Inspired Coordinator to join our senior living community in Washington, DC. This position is ideal for a creative, organized, and mission-driven professional who is passionate about enhancing the lives of older adults through innovative programming and meaningful engagement.

The Life Inspired Coordinator plays a key role in developing and executing a comprehensive life enrichment program that supports residents socially, intellectually, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This role offers significant opportunity for professional growth and expanded leadership responsibility for the right candidate.



Position Summary

Reporting to the Life Inspired Director and working closely with the Executive Director and department leaders, the Life Inspired Coordinator supports the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of high-quality programming for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents.

This position requires a hands-on leader who can execute daily programming while contributing to the strategic development of the department. Candidates should bring energy, creativity, and a strong commitment to hospitality and resident-centered engagement.



Key Responsibilities

Program Development & Execution



  • Plan and implement a seven-day activity calendar that reflects diverse resident interests and abilities
  • Design programming that supports physical wellness, cognitive stimulation, creativity, connection, and purpose
  • Facilitate both group and individualized engagement opportunities
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of monthly calendars and newsletters



Community Engagement



  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local cultural institutions, universities, civic organizations, and volunteer groups
  • Coordinate outings and off-site experiences throughout Washington, DC
  • Arrange guest speakers, performers, and community groups to enhance programming
  • Welcome new residents and families and support their integration into the community


Leadership & Operations



  • Collaborate with leadership on monthly planning and departmental goals
  • Support budget awareness and inventory management for activity supplies
  • Supervise volunteers and assist in mentoring activity staff
  • Participate in management meetings and cross-department initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with residents' rights and applicable state regulations


Qualifications

Qualifications

Required:



  • Experience planning and executing life enrichment or activity programming for seniors
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lead groups and foster meaningful engagement
  • Valid driver's license (community vehicle operation required)
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to meet state and regulatory requirements


Preferred:



  • Certification in Activities or Therapeutic Recreation (as required by state)
  • Supervisory or leadership experience
  • Experience in hospitality, event planning, education, arts programming, or nonprofit community engagement
