Supplier Quality Auditor

A suppler quality auditor's job description includes conducting audits of vendors to ensure compliance with contracts, regulations, and internal standards. They analyze data, prepare reports, document findings, recommend corrective actions, and collaborate with internal teams like procurement, quality and grading to manage and improve supplier performance. The role requires a strong understanding of quality management systems, excellent analytical and communication skills, and often involves travel.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct audits: Perform on-site or remote audits to assess vendor capabilities, processes, and compliance with contractual, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Analyze findings: Review contracts, transaction records, and other data to identify noncompliance or areas for improvement.
  • Report and document: Prepare detailed reports on audit findings, maintain records of audit findings and vendor responses, and manage the approved vendor list.
  • Drive corrective actions: Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformities.
  • Improve processes: Contribute to developing and implementing new systems and processes to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance with internal procedures and external regulations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with internal teams, such as procurement, compliance, and legal, to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of vendors.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance: Verify that vendors comply with all applicable industry
    standards and government regulations.
  • Assist/backup for Director of Cheese Quality/Grading, Vice President of Food Safety as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Cheese Quality/Grading or Vice President of Food Safety, Quality and Product Development.


Qualifications and Experience:



  • A High School diploma is required. An Associate Degree in a quality-related field is preferred.
  • Two to five years of quality, documentation, or operations experience is preferred. ANSI Certified HACCP Coordinator and Internal Auditor preferred.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in all departments and gain input/feedback.
  • Strong understanding of GMPs, SOPs, and sanitation verification.
  • Efficient in computer and iPad applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Experience with GFSI standards, BRC certification, and food safety audits.
  • Knowledge of FDA, USDA, WDA food safety regulations and inspection protocol.
