Position Summary

The selected candidate will be responsible for new product testing. These tests are carried out in accordance with good engineering practices and company procedures. The selected candidate will be responsible for learning all relevant test procedures, becoming an expert in all applicable test equipment and works with appropriate teams for servicing and maintaining the test equipment. The incumbent, because of the high level of related experience and education, is able to carry out assignments with little direct day-to-day supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and runs testing requested by external and internal customers.

  • Works with maintenance, engineering, and calibration suppliers to maintain, diagnose, and reapair thermal chambers, ovens, fluid circulators and other test equipment.

  • Estimates costs including labor hours, test hours, fixture costs, etc. for testing.

  • Writes technical reports including test results, procedure and calculations.

  • Works with design engineering to build custom test equipment when needed.

  • Identifies opportunities for testing improvements through evaluation of current test practices and methods.

  • Communicates and coordinates testing activities with divisional team members and deals directly with customers as needed.

  • Creates and maintains well-documented test procedure and results files in accordance with design control procedures.

  • Maintains adherence to company policies, safety/ergonomic standards and good housekeeping practices.

  • Understands and implements the health, safety, and environmental policies and integrate health, safety, and environmental considerations into daily work activities.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or 5+ years' experience in related field.
  • A strong mechanical aptitude for significant hands-on work.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required.
  • Effective inter-personal skills, ability to work in a team environment, and Project Management experience with the ability to manage his/her own priorities and workload.
  • Ability to routinely lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods of time.
