Job Description

Life Skills Associate (LSA) provides supervision, guidance, instruction, and/or skill building to assigned individuals served within a specific program site regarding daily living activities, safety, vocational activities, and interaction with others.

EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • One (1) year experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities
  • Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally
  • Ability to independently problem-solve
  • Ability to perform cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and crisis intervention techniques according to agency trained protocols
  • Must possess a current, valid driver's license in state of residence, have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience within the United States, and have an acceptable driving record

Community Support Worker (CSW) trains, counsels, and supervises those served in activities of daily living and community inclusion. Responsible for adhering to Individual Service Plan (ISP) goals and documenting progress.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Three (3) years direct care experience
  • Must possess a current, valid driver's license in state of residence, have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience within the United States, and have an acceptable driving record
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain personal neutrality in challenging situations
  • Must possess good interaction and written and verbal communication skills

Applied Behavior Specialist (ABS) provides intensive on-going behavioral assessment/behavior support plan implementation to individuals diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) or other genetic/behaviorally complicated disorders who live in Community Residential Services (CRS). Individuals admitted to CRS' specialized behavioral programs for placement will receive supports within a highly structured setting, including behavioral interventions. The ABS will be responsible for participating in the continued behavioral assessment across settings, as well as the application of strategies derived from an applied behavior analysis (ABA) model. The ABS will work closely with the clinical team to implement individually designed behavior plans to decrease problem behavior while increasing adaptive more appropriate responses.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or a closely related field or, Associates or 60 college credits plus three (3) years of work experience in programs supporting people with acute behavioral needs
  • Experience working with individuals with challenging behaviors desired
  • Experience implementing ABA strategies desired
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated basic experience with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook.
  • Maintain current certification/recertification of CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration and crisis intervention, in accordance with agency trained protocols
  • Must possess a current, valid driver's license in state of residence, have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience within the United States, and have an acceptable driving record
Adult Day Instructor (ADI) provides supervision, guidance, instruction, and/or skill building to assigned individuals served within a specific program site regarding daily living activities, safety, community inclusion, and interaction with others.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS :
  • One (1) year experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervision
  • Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally
  • Ability to perform cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, medication administration and crisis intervention techniques according to agency trained protocols
  • Must possess a current, valid driver's license in state of residence, have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience within the United States, and have an acceptable driving record
