Job Description

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for establishing a comprehensive maintenance system to maximize production availability, while controlling overall costs. A focus on total preventative maintenance and continuous improvement upgrades is essential. improving our competitiveness through reduction of downtime and efficiency of maintenance costs. This includes the development and implementation of technical improvements to the plant processes and maintenance function, including failure analysis, materials of construction, repair method and application of diagnostic/predictive maintenance and information management. This position would have 6-8 direct reports and would be reporting to the Maintenance manager.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Complies with PCC Code of Conduct Requirements.
  • Ensures a safe, productive and pleasant working environment for employees.
  • Effectively lead the maintenance staff by coaching, developing, communicating, delegating, and holding staff accountable. Create a team oriented environment which motivates staff and keeps employees engaged in their jobs and the Company.
  • Work with managers to ensure the policies and goals of the organization are met or exceeded.
  • Manages the reliability engineering process to provide failure-based equipment maintenance plans (EMP's), to analyze predictive and preventive maintenance inspection data and recommend corrective actions, and to analyze equipment reliability data to improve EMP's.
  • Implement predictive maintenance plans (PdM) to evaluate the condition of equipment by performing periodic or continuous (online) equipment condition monitoring. The ultimate goal of predictive maintenance is to perform maintenance at a scheduled point in time when the maintenance activity is most cost-effective and before the equipment loses performance within a threshold.
  • Manages the maintenance engineering process to provide specifications and tolerances for EMP's, standard work instructions, spare parts, and PM/PdM inspections, to optimize PM inspections to improve effectiveness, and to provide technical support to the maintenance execution groups. This function also leads repair technique improvements, standardizes spare parts, and provided technical support for equipment modifications to improve reliability.
  • Manage the planning, scheduling, and planned maintenance activities of the work flow process utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Responsibilities include; maintaining the asset hierarchy, managing equipment spare parts lists (BOM's), managing and scheduling planned work activities, and the life of a work order.
  • Manage daily activities of the maintenance group to ensure compliance to the plan while working in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Plan for and coordinate the installation of new equipment and the removal or movement of current equipment; finds contractors as needed, reviews the contracts and monitors and approves contractors work
  • Develop and monitor the maintenance repair and capital improvement budgets; initiates programs and procedures to reduce spending and enhance performance.
  • Collaborate with the Production team and key employees to effectively plan for scheduled and unscheduled events to maximize time for rebuilds, repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Consistently participate and follow the Company's manufacturing operating system attend and contribute to daily and weekly meetings on a regular basis. Contribute to and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Prepares reports, analyzes data and makes recommendations for improving operations and solving maintenance related problems. Maintains all documentation as required.
  • Comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations, as well as all Company policies and procedures.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of basic hydraulics and electrical
  • Proven experience in project management and MRO procurement in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and project management methodologies.
  • Computer knowledge: Intermediate to advanced use of CAD (AutoCAD, Solid works, etc.), MS Word, MS Project, MS Excel, Basic PLC
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures and machinery function.
  • Ability to effectively organize and coordinate maintenance/facilities projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret Blueprints and schematics
  • Ability to analytically and rationally make decisions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Experience & Education

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, other related fields, or equivalent experience/courses
  • 5+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in manufacturing leadership position preferred

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $90,000.00 to $120,000.00 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
