JOB OVERVIEW


You'll be at the heart of our production center, helping millions of customers across the world enjoy Hallmark products. As a Production Operations Manager, you'll join a diverse supply chain leadership team and play a key role in driving operational excellence across our facility. You will lead and develop managers and frontline teams, collaborate with crossfunctional partners, and champion continuous improvement to achieve quality, cost, and service goals in a fastpaced manufacturing environment.


SHIFT DETAILS

This position is a full-time, exempt role supporting a 24/7, multishift manufacturing operation. Work schedules may vary based on business needs and operational requirements.


THE RESPONSIBILITIES WE'LL TRUST YOU WITH

You will lead a large, multishift production area, directing and coordinating work through your management team to ensure productivity, serviceability, quality, and cost targets are met. Some of your responsibilities include:



  • Leading all activities within your assigned production area, ensuring goals and objectives are achieved in alignment with plant and company priorities.
  • Managing and developing exempt leaders and indirectly leading large teams of nonexempt employees across multiple shifts.
  • Driving lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, using disciplined problemsolving tools such as PDCA, A3, and Kaizen to reduce waste, improve flow, and enhance performance.
  • Developing and managing area budgets, monitoring costs, throughput, and key performance metrics to ensure operational targets are met.
  • Championing significant process improvements and technology enhancements to maintain Hallmark's competitive edge in printing and converting operations.
  • Building a culture of engagement, accountability, and safety while modeling Hallmark's leadership behaviors and values.
  • Partnering with plant leadership and key business stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and deliver results.


Important things to know:

  • This job will be located at our facility in Lawrence, KS. (Relocation assistance will not be provided.)
  • In the production areas there is some noise. Hearing protection is provided by Hallmark.
  • This role supports a continuous operation; occasional extended hours or weekend work may be required based on business needs.


YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5-7 years of operational and/or supply chain management experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading exempt leaders and large production teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Strong leadership, problemsolving, and communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, printing, or production operations
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with printing, converting, or packaging processes
  • Lean manufacturing experience and demonstrated use of continuous improvement tools
  • SAP experience, particularly SCP and/or MTI
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop leaders in a dynamic, multishift operation
