Position Summary

Sustaining Engineer leads product configuration sustainment, changes, and improvements on NVH products which have been fully transitioned to production. He/She is responsible for providing timely technical leadership that drives quality, value, and premier customer experience. This role collaborates broadly across the organization and with our external customers to provide solutions to product configuration issues that meet customer requirements, are technically sound, cost-effective, and well substantiated. Given this, the role requires strong technical ability, leadership, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Promoting a Safety-First workplace, encouraging the identification and closure of opportunities for safety improvements.

  • Provide technical leadership and drive issues to timely resolution with a continuous improvement (Lean) mindset to achieve Zero Defects through product and process robustness.

  • Work collaboratively with internal customers across departments and manufacturing locations as well as interfacing directly with our external customers.

  • Lead both verbal and written technical discussions while ensuring appropriate engagement.

  • Substantiate technical decisions with written justification and supporting documentation.

  • Determine disposition of non-conforming product and implement corrective action as required.

  • Collaborate closely with our supply chain and quality organizations as well as suppliers supporting NVH Division.

  • Effectively prioritize multiple initiatives or tasks to ensure NVH plants have timely technical direction meeting quality and customer requirements.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required-

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with strong mechanical aptitude and process knowledge.

  • 4-7 years of experience in a technical role, leading complex projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and participate in high-performance teams.

  • Extensive knowledge of and use of engineering principles and tools as well as ability to apply sound engineering judgement, Simple by Design (SbD) principles, and assess risk.

  • Strong and demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong knowledge of Parker-LORD products, design principles, and manufacturing processes.

  • Able to prioritize multiple projects within an environment with limited resources and oversight.

Preferred-

  • SAP Experience

  • Master's degree in an Engineering discipline, MBA or similar

  • Willingness to relocate or work out of any of the NVH US-based plants.
