Parker Lord's Dayton facility manufactures passive vibration mounts for commercial and military aerospace applications. Our core competencies include machining and rubber-to-metal bonding, and we hold multiple industry and aerospace customer certifications, including AS9100 and NADCAP.

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer III is a highly experienced role that is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment in the Dayton Parker Lord Facility. Oversees and optimizes more complex manufacture, test, and assembly of new and existing Parker Lord products to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives and drive operational excellence. Develops advanced manufacturing techniques, testing new systems and methods for efficiency, and planning assembly layouts to optimize production, quality, cost, and safety. Will be responsible for developing and deploying large capital projects.

Essential Job Functions


  • Manufacturing Process Flow - Plans and designs complex and advanced manufacturing processes to improve the manufacture, test, and assembly of new and existing products. Determines equipment and tooling needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product and quality specifications.

  • Production Support - Support plant operations through resolution of equipment, process, and documentation challenges.

  • Process Improvement - Helps develop and implement process improvement projects that focus on manufacturing efficiency, material yield, safety, and cost. Leads teams in a large scope of process improvement initiatives.

  • Engineering Design Support - Recommends design concepts for engineering leadership regarding concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

  • Regulatory Compliance - Ensures complex processes and procedures comply with industry and customer regulations. Applies frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.

  • Remediation - Investigates and takes corrective action to ensure product quality and resolve quality issues.

  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in related Engineering field with at least 5 years of experience

  • Advanced knowledge and ability to apply concepts of engineering to multiple solution lines

  • Ability to apply a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving of sophisticated

  • scope and complexity

  • Effectively apply continuous improvement methods to quality and manufacturing functions (e.g. pull

  • systems, process mapping, JIT)

  • Advanced knowledge of data acquisition and analysis

  • Experience with production test design, support, and improvement

  • Ability to work effectively with CAD systems or other computer-aided design systems, in addition to standard business application software and/or specialized data analysis tools

  • Ability to develop new procedures to solve problems

  • Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings and specifications

  • Advanced knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Ability to research and review data effectively and draw valid conclusions

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task

  • Strong prioritization skills

  • Strong computer skills, including mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers

  • Knowledge of and experience with control systems (preferred)
