Machinist II (Cores and Keys)

dormakaba is seeking a Machinist II based in Indianapolis, IN. The Machinist II is responsible for performing machine setups, tool changes, and adjusting as necessary. This position provides training to lower-level machinists.

This position may be available on First Shift (6AM - 2:30PM), Second Shift (2PM - 10:30PM) or Third Shift (10PM - 6:30AM) with a base pay range of $23.50/hr. - $35/hr. Mandatory overtime may be required as needed. (Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). $2,000 Sign-on Bonus (details provided during interview)

• Operate machine according to standard operating instructions
• Perform machine setups, tool changes, and make adjustments as necessary
• Perform minor troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of the equipment
• Monitor the quality of work per Quality Assurance Inspection Procedure (QAIP)
• Follow all Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) policies & procedures including use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Extensive experience of machine operating, setups, tool changes, etc.
• Ability tooperate/run multiple machines simultaneously
• Ability to perform advanced quality inspections
• Understanding of shop math & blueprint reading/comprehension

• SAP or MRP system knowledge
• Computer proficiency and Lean skills
• Documented manufacturing education/training
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GDT)
• An understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and similar quality control concepts
