When freight spend reaches nine figures, precision matters. We are seeking one experienced Senior Transportation Analyst for a two-month temporary assignment supporting a global automotive parts distribution network. This role sits at the center of freight cost analysis, logistics reporting, carrier management, and transportation database oversight within a high-volume supply chain environment.

$62,518.54 - $92,214.85 (2-Month Temporary Assignment)

What You'll Do



  • Maintain and enhance transportation databases to track inbound and outbound freight expenses
  • Analyze approximately $100M in annual freight spend across domestic and international shipments
  • Audit transportation costs versus the budget and provide weekly and monthly variance reporting
  • Update freight payment data from external systems into internal Access databases
  • Generate and distribute performance reports, including cost-versus-sales summaries and trend analysis
  • Administer carrier RFQ/RFP processes and deliver service-versus-cost comparisons with recommendations
  • Provide monthly freight spend forecasts to Finance
  • Monitor carrier transit times and identify service improvement opportunities
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Access database functions and industry benchmarking data
  • Run SQL queries and AMOS data warehouse reports for cost studies and special projects
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, reporting decks, and narrative analysis for senior leadership
  • Maintain carrier insurance and rate files
  • Partner with internal systems teams to improve logistics data processes



What You Bring



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum five years of logistics experience in freight rates, freight bill auditing, or carrier management (sea, air, and land)
  • At least three years of data analysis and data mining experience within transportation, automotive, or parts distribution operations
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and query management tools
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Intermediate Microsoft Access skills with the ability to create and maintain tables, forms, charts, queries, macros, and databases
  • Experience importing and managing large data files from multiple systems
  • Strong analytical, forecasting, and cost-optimization capabilities
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings to executive leadership
  • Ability to work independently, manage KPIs, and resolve issues with minimal supervision
