Job Description:

MRI Technologist Full Time, First Shift

The MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by a radiologist or licensed independent practitioner. This role exercises professional judgment, ensures patient safety, and provides compassionate care while maintaining compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI procedures according to physician orders and established protocols

  • Adjust scanning parameters to optimize image quality and diagnostic accuracy

  • Monitor patients during exams and respond appropriately to any adverse reactions

  • Review images for quality, positioning, and artifacts prior to submission

  • Obtain and document relevant patient medical history, including implant and safety screening

  • Educate patients on MRI procedures, preparation, and safety precautions

  • Maintain accurate documentation of imaging procedures and patient information

  • Perform daily equipment checks and quality control procedures

  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and imaging staff to ensure quality outcomes

  • Adhere to MRI safety standards, infection control policies, and regulatory guidelines

  • Participate in continuing education and department training activities

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Technical Diploma required

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology training program required

  • No minimum experience required

  • Two years of MRI Technologist experience in a hospital or medical imaging facility preferred

  • Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required

  • Advanced ARRT Registry in MRI required within one year of hire

  • Current Commonwealth of Kentucky Radiation License through the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire

  • Must maintain eligibility for professional registration and required certifications
