Overview

What You Will Do

As the Acumatica Applications Lead, you will serve as the principal owner and technical authority for Prime Controls' Acumatica ERP platform. You will have end-to-end accountability for system architecture, stability, customization, integrations, governance, and long-term platform evolution.

This role partners closely with Finance, Accounting, Operations, Project Management, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Service, and IT leadership to ensure the ERP platform supports scalable business growth. You will define standards, approve changes, and drive the overall platform direction.

A Typical Day at Prime Controls

Platform Ownership & Technical Leadership

    Serve as the principal owner of the Acumatica ERP platform, accountable for system health, performance, scalability, and governance
  • Establish and enforce technical standards and best practices for development and system usage
  • Own architectural decisions including customization strategy, integrations, and upgrade methodology
  • Act as the final technical decision-maker for ERP-related enhancements and changes

Acumatica Development & Customization

  • Design, develop, and maintain customizations using the Acumatica Framework
  • Develop custom screens, fields, DAC extensions, workflows, automation, and business logic
  • Create and maintain custom reports, generic inquiries, and dashboards
  • Ensure all development is upgrade-safe, maintainable, and aligned with established standards
  • Build and maintain integrations using Acumatica REST and SOAP APIs

ERP Administration & Governance

  • Administer production, sandbox, and test environments
  • Manage security roles, access controls, and system configurations
  • Lead change management, testing strategy, release coordination, and deployments
  • Monitor system performance, data integrity, and issue resolution

Platform Expansion & Functional Enablement

  • Expand and enhance functionality across:
    • Financial Management & General Ledger
    • Project Accounting, Cost Management, and Billing
    • Distribution, Inventory, and Purchasing
    • Manufacturing (BOMs, Routings, MRP, Production Orders)
    • Service Management and CRM
  • Evaluate and implement third-party ISVs and system integrations
  • Extend native functionality through configuration and custom development

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Translate business requirements into approved technical designs and ERP solutions
  • Provide Tier-3 support for complex system, data, and integration issues
  • Advise leadership on ERP capabilities, limitations, and strategic decisions
  • Coordinate with external Acumatica partners while maintaining internal ownership

Platform Roadmap & Strategy

  • Own the Acumatica technical roadmap aligned with company growth and operational strategy
  • Plan and execute upgrades, module adoption, and architectural improvements
  • Ensure long-term scalability, security, and enterprise readiness of the ERP platform

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on Acumatica ERP experience in a senior technical or developer role
  • Demonstrated experience owning and governing an ERP platform
  • Strong expertise in Acumatica customization framework and development best practices
  • Solid understanding of ERP financial and operational data models
  • Experience developing integrations using REST and SOAP APIs
  • Ability to operate independently as the principal owner of a mission-critical system
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Acumatica Developer Certification
  • Experience in project-based, manufacturing, construction, or engineering environments
  • Experience with SQL, reporting tools, and advanced data analysis
  • Experience managing ERP vendors, partners, and ISV relationships
