Senior Director of Human Resources (Remote)

Role Overview:

We are hiring a remote Senior Director of Human Resources to provide strategic leadership across employee relations and HR business partnership in a multi-state healthcare environment. This role partners closely with senior leaders to drive consistent, compliant people practices, strengthen leader capability, and support organizational performance through sound HR guidance and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the Employee Relations and HRBP function, including ongoing development of processes, tools, and team capability.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on employee relations, performance management, investigations, and complex people decisions.
  • Build strong partnerships across the business, guiding leaders to sound decisions through influence, data, and practical recommendations.
  • Provide clear, risk-aware counsel and recommendations, including when disagreeing with senior leaders, while maintaining credibility and productive working relationships.
  • Maintain multi-state compliance with employment laws and regulations (including EEO, FMLA, ADA, and related requirements).
  • Own HR policy and procedure governance to support consistency, fairness, and scalability across states and teams.
  • Coach leaders through performance concerns, corrective action, and difficult conversations, ensuring respectful, consistent application of policy.
  • Ensure employee concerns are addressed promptly and appropriately, with documentation and follow-through.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors/consultants to deliver HR initiatives.
  • Manage HR resources and budget to optimize HR operations and outcomes.
  • Mentor, develop, and retain a high-performing HR team, including HRBPs and Employee Relations partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • Multi-state healthcare HR experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in leadership.
  • Deep employee relations expertise, including investigations and high-sensitivity matters.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state employment compliance (EEO, FMLA, ADA, and related regulations).
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders through partnership, coaching, and sound judgment, including delivering clear recommendations in high-stakes situations.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree.
  • HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR).

Work Environment and Schedule:

  • Full-time role, generally Monday through Friday during standard business hours, with occasional evening/weekend needs as required.
  • Remote position, with occasional travel based on business needs.
