The Senior VMware Consultant will support clients by ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and disaster recovery readiness of their VMware and Dell-based enterprise virtualization environment. This role is responsible for day-to-day monitoring and administration of ESXi hosts, Dell server appliances, SAN storage, and VMware Site Recovery Manager. The consultant will collaborate closely with client stakeholders, participate in planning sessions, and provide expert troubleshooting and documentation to maintain the stability and security of the IT environment.

Key Responsibilities
Monitor and manage 30+ Dell servers at the primary data center and 8+ servers at the disaster recovery sites. Maintain and monitor ESXi hosts and Dell infrastructure appliances, including OMIVV (OpenManage Integration for VMware vCenter), OMSA (OpenManage Server Administrator), and Dell Enterprise Manager. Oversee and maintain SAN storage systems at both primary and DR facilities. Administer VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) for disaster recovery planning, testing, and failover. Conduct daily planning and coordination with Fulton County Board of Education counterparts to align on task assignments and priorities. Participate in bi-weekly VMware meetings focused on planning, technology evaluation, and action item tracking. Troubleshoot and resolve virtualization and storage system issues as assigned. Document system configurations, processes, and changes. Adapt to a hybrid work environment, working both onsite and remotely as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. 8+ years of experience managing enterprise VMware VCF/vSphere/ESXi environments. Hands-on experience with Dell server hardware and management tools (OMIVV, OMSA, Enterprise Manager). Strong experience maintaining and monitoring SAN storage systems. Proven expertise with VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for daily planning and coordination with client stakeholders. Experience supporting hybrid (onsite/remote) work arrangements. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:
Hybrid work environment: combination of remote work and onsite duties at 6201 Powers Ferry Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30339. Standard office setting with prolonged use of computers and related technology. May require occasional travel for meetings or onsite support.
