Job Description We have an exciting opportunity for a Workday Business System Analyst (HCM) at UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement, based in our Evanston, Illinois, office. The Workday Business System Analyst (HCM) is responsible for developing and managing custom reports and dashboards within Human Capital Management (HCM) for UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement organizations. The analyst initiates business as usual type changes and develops reports and dashboards that provide insights and data analysis to support decision-making and meet the reporting needs of the organizations. What you'll learn and achieve: As the Workday Business System Analyst (HCM) you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:
Design, develop, test and implement custom reports and dashboards in Workday using its reporting tools such as Report Writer, Workday Report Designer, and Workday Prism Analytics. Understand business requirements, data sources, and report specifications to create accurate and actionable reports. Initiates business as usual type changes, such as supervisory organization updates, job profile grades, locations, annual goal setting, progress check-ins, and other general core HCM, learning, payroll, and benefit related updates. Generates and analyzes HR data reports, metrics, and analytics to support decision-making and provides insights to stakeholders. Collaborate with stakeholders, such as managers, HCM teams, or executives, to understand their reporting needs and translate them into meaningful reports and dashboards. Ensure the accuracy and reliability of existing reports and dashboards by regularly reviewing and updating them as necessary. Modify report layouts, data sources, or calculations to improve usability and relevance. Stay updated with Workday releases and new features to leverage enhancements in reporting capabilities. Ensure the integrity and security of data used in reports and dashboards. Adhere to data governance policies and best practices to maintain data accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality. Validate and reconcile data from multiple sources to ensure the reliability of report outputs. Document report requirements, specifications, and processes for future reference and knowledge sharing. Provide training and support to end-users on how to run and interpret reports effectively. Create user-friendly documentation or guides to assist users in accessing and utilizing reports. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, finance, IT, and other stakeholders, to gather requirements, understand data sources, and align reporting efforts with organizational goals. Communicate effectively with users to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and provide timely updates on report development and maintenance. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging reporting technologies to enhance reporting capabilities. Proactively identify opportunities for automation, optimization, or process improvements in report development and delivery. Document and execute routine HR-related requests. Perform other duties as directed.

Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Information Systems, or a related field. 5 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Workday Report Writer, Workday Report Designer, Workday Prism Analytics) is a plus. Prior experience with Workday is required. In-depth knowledge of HR processes, policies, and regulations.
