Job Summary:

The Scientific Research Informaticist will collect, manage, and ensure the integrity of Supernus's research data. This role is responsible for using a combination of scientific research knowledge, computer science skills, and data analysis techniques to manage and interpret biomedical data. Incumbents in this role will work with non-clinical research teams to define data collection parameters, analyze, and present data in a clear and concise matter to stakeholders.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Mine and analyze data from biomedical databases to drive optimization and improvement of drug development processes and business strategies.
  • Design and implement biological data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
  • Develop protocols for data processing and analysis to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Lead the design, validation, and continuous improvement of informatics solutions.
  • Serve as lead for preclinical research informatics projects, ensuring prioritization and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions.
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
  • Communicate complex quantitative analyses in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.
  • Remains informed of industry trends and advancements in biomedical informatics and data analysis.
  • Other responsibilities and projects assigned.

Knowledge & Other Qualifications:



  • A master's degree in bioinformatics, computer science, data science or related fields, or in biological sciences (pharmacology, neurosciences, biochemistry or similar), and a minimum of Five years of relevant experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Previous experience in biomedical research (experimental biology, neuroscience, drug discovery and development, pharmacology, biochemistry, DMPK) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in biological data management and processing, including cleaning, normalization, analysis, and visualization.
  • Technical knowledge of database systems and data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R, and SAS.
  • Experience with database software and/or electronic notebooks (IDBS, Signals One, Dotmatics, CDD vault, etc.).
  • Proficient in data visualization and reporting tools (Microsoft Suite, Graph Pad, Power BI).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address data issues, discrepancies, or other challenges that may arise in data management or analysis.
  • Experience in implementing data privacy practices and maintaining confidentiality.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:



  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or carry objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
  • Position may require prolonged sitting, prolonged standing, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, walking and pushing.


Compensation:

At Supernus, we offer a competitive compensation package that reflects your experiences and contributions. The expected salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role is $130,000 to $150,000. This range is what the Company reasonably expects to offer for the position and is not reflective of the full compensation scale of the role. This range may be modified in the future. An individual's salary within the range is based on multiple factors, which may include and are not limited to education, relevant experience, knowledge, length of industry experience and organizational needs.

You also will be able to participate in a competitive benefits package, including but not limited to: health, dental, vision, paid time off, 401k company match, company paid life insurance and health and wellness benefits. The total compensation package for this position also includes other compensation elements such as stock equity awards, employee stock purchase programs and participation in our Company's discretionary annual bonus program.
