JOB TITLE: Front Desk Security Support

LOCATION: Crystal City, VA

SUPPORTING: PEO IWS

JOB CATEGORY: Full-Time

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional security-related certifications are a plus.
  • Previous experience in a security or customer service role preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with access control and security systems.
  • Experience with the DoD security clearance system, DISS, is a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Front Desk Security Support position serves as the first point of contact for visitors, employees, and contractors entering IWS facilities. This position is essential for supporting the government to maintain a secure and welcoming environment, ensuring compliance with organization security protocols, and providing exceptional customer service. Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Greeting and verify the identity of all visitors, employees, and contractors entering the facility.
  • Issue visitor badges and manage access control in accordance with organization policies and security standards.
  • Conduct initial security screening of personnel and packages to prevent unauthorized access or prohibited items.
  • Maintain accurate records of visitor logs and badge issuance.
  • Collaborate with the security team and other departments to address any potential security risks or incidents.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and follow established procedures for evacuations, lockdowns, or other incidents.
  • Provide directions and general information to visitors and employees as needed.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as filing, reporting, and maintaining security documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with organization policies, procedures, and applicable regulations[AM1] .

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and perform light physical duties as needed.
