Summary:




Sr. Manager of Fulfillment is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the fulfillment center and supply chain activities that support Visionworks retail store and manufacturing along with other customers/clients assigned by senior leadership. Responsibilities include establishing a "safety first" culture through awareness, training and accountability along with implementing LEAN systems that will drive continuous improvement and efficiencies. This position will develop and execute an operational budget that supports customer demand as defined by the planning team. This position will lead fulfillment teams through daily forecasting, planning, scheduling, and execution of all tasks as required to support manufacturing and retail stores. This position will champion the use of LEAN systems and tools as it relates to daily operations while maintaining and managing within approved budgets. This position requires hands-on leadership by spending time on the floor each day observing and interacting with team members as well as the individual development and coaching of direct reports.

Pay Class: Full Time

Pay: $81,447.62 - $108,596.11



Essential Responsibilities:



Supports the development of business and organizational strategies which include determining and deploying facility objectives and organizational design that align with supply chain and company goals. Confers with senior leadership to coordinate warehouse activities, goals, labor, sales, production and financials.

Ensures appropriate procedures and resources are in place so product is picked, processed and shipped in a timely, accurate manner.

In support of retail dates, inventory serviceability and service commitments: develops production plans for seasonal and everyday filling and shipping activities, monitors daily progress toward meeting ship schedules, plans future order fulfillment requirements and adjusts plans as required to ensure overall service levels are achieved at the lowest cost possible.

Collaborates with Finance to create a budget while monitoring and maintaining cost within cost per job parameters agreed upon with senior leadership.

Develop managers to understand and operate their respective departments within budget.

Drives continuous improvement activities throughout all areas of responsibility and maintains effective budgetary and cost management control to improve yearly CPJ. Key accountabilities include lean activities, efficiency in floor layout, improving order processing methods, partnering with engineering project teams, creating new solutions in support for logistic initiatives.

Ensures accuracy of finished goods inventory in support of uninterrupted flow of shipments to retail stores.

Integrates quality systems to ensure the highest levels of retail serviceability. Work with department managers, engineers and retail planners to develop packing guidelines, auditing procedures and service expectations to improve retail delivery.

Determines and executes action plans to meet changing needs of customers, balancing volume and mix changes while ensuring expectations are met.

Achieves stretch goals by coaching/teaching, establishing standards and mechanisms to drive change and process improvement.

Understands how to lead and balance diversity and inclusion work groups and formats.

Collaborate with Human Resources and Demand Planning to develop labor plans. Also, with support staff (Finance, HR, EHS, IT and other Operations Managers) to build, secure and provide support and resources for key area projects and other staff initiatives or large scale projects.

Collaboration within the supply chain to ensure the most efficient process/results.

Support the implementation of company programs, procedures, methods and practices to promote Visionworks mission.

Communicates a vision and sets clear expectations that inspire and engage their team and the organization.

Mentors managers in the area of technical/operational knowledge, development of leadership skills to further their career goals.



Education:





Bachelor's degree required (combination of education and experience required).




Experience & Background:




  • Seven (7) plus years managing in a high-volume Fulfillment or Manufacturing environment required.


  • Must have experience managing a group of department managers leading multiple shifts.


  • Experience managing a diverse workforce in a fast-paced environment.


  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems, equipment, procedures, and process improvement required.


  • Experience with LEAN Six Sigma as a Kiazen leader, Green Belt preferred.



Language Skills:




  • Ability to read and comprehend complex, English instructions, correspondence, and/or memos is required.


  • Capacity to write correspondence relaying opportunities or findings is required.


  • Aptitude to effectively present information in one-on-one and group settings is necessary.


  • Bilingual ability, particularly in Spanish, is desirable.



Mathematical Skills:




  • Ability to perform the analytical mathematics required by the business functions.


  • Aptitude to perform these operations using standard units of measurement, distance, weight, volume, and currency



Reasoning Ability




  • Ability to think logically in following procedures and instructions


  • Advanced problem-solving abilities utilizing best in industry tools such as LSS, 5C, 8D.


  • Ability to apply analytical tools and common understanding to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions and interpret diagrams and/or forms.


  • Must possess capacity to deal with complex problems and situations involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
