Here's what you'd do:

• Performs identified Move/Add/Change activity to include all network modifications.
• May include moving/adding connections in network closet and terminating port connections at the end location (conference room, desk, office).
• May include necessary changes within the switch to accommodate port activation.
• Assist with network design
• Support other network personnel as needed with the installation/modification of network infrastructure and components
• Basic network monitoring.
• Sets up and ensures operability of systems and hardware components before field deployment.
• Analyzes failed equipment, performs standard repairs, and tests components or equipment.
• Repair and replace data connectors on network cables and data drops
• Duties include installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing telephones.
• Perform data termination/ activation in telecommunication closets, aka network connect (activation of data drops)
• Assists with telecommunications equipment and telephone switching equipment related to processing and transmission
• Analyzes existing networks and then designs and creates customized networks and computer systems to meet business needs and ensure smooth, proper running.
• Three years of experience as a Network Technician.
• Perform as first responder to ITSM and Service Now problem tickets.
• Can include a variety of duties including customer contact, problem identification, and research, taking corrective action, acquiring additional support, documentation, and problem closeout.
• Support during off-hours and weekends may be required for maintenance windows and break/fix.
• Monitors, controls, and isolates problems in a data communications network.
• Monitors all network activity.
• Activates/deactivates network lines according to established schedules.
• May perform first- or second-level problem determination first level is help desk.
• Interfaces with users or network vendors.
• Sets up and tests a variety of systems and hardware components before field deployment.
• Analyzes failed equipment according to established methods or procedures and determines whether equipment is repairable in-house or must be returned to the vendor for repair. Performs standard repairs and tests of components or equipment that can be repaired in-house.
• Tests incoming repaired items from the vendor to ensure that repairs were properly done.
• Ensure compliance with standard IT security rules and regulations
• Physically install network assets (switches, routers, network tools & testing devices) in network closets and data center network cabinets, including:
• Logically configure network switches and tools/testing devices.
• Complete patching of circuits into switches.
• Perform network closet clean-up, switch port optimization, and survey work as needed.
• Operate network test equipment (layer 1-3).
• Monitor and take appropriate action on network alerts generated from management tools.
• Administer the ITSM / Service Now network ticket queue.
• Respond, update, and close incident tickets (break/fix and service requests).
• Support network break/fix actions to restore service to customers.
• Meet network SLA and performance measurements.
• Provide customer interface communication skills.
• Take initial Tier 1 calls from customers and/or help desk.
• Administer the network asset tool to help assist in data integrity.
• Administer network drawings and documentation tools.
• Support after-hours network change control maintenance windows as needed.
• Assist with other network personnel to maintain well-organized network equipment storage areas.
• Assist with network equipment RMA activities as needed.
• Update and maintain Visio drawings.

Pay: $26hour

Hours: 9x80 Monday-Thursday with every other Friday off.

Length: Contract (12 month)

Required skills:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 year of experience in with network connectivity assessment (troubleshooting and setups).
• Minimum 3 years of experience with technical experience consisting of operation systems such as Windows, Unix/Linux, and Apple.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with telecommunications and networking.
• Minimum 3 years of experience providing technical support in an in-person setting

• Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.

• Clean driving record as an MVR will be ran.
• Possible lifting may be required up to 50 lbs.
• Successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance.
