Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The role of the mechanical engineer will be to perform the engineering & design of integrated thermal systems for customer applications involving molten metal processing, heating designs, and transferring metal in various metal treatment industries. Oversee and participate in projects from initiation through assembly, including within customers' environments.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Accurately interpret client's technical specifications and produce a compliant technical proposal, offering more suitable alternatives where appropriate.
  • Effectively coordinate activities with Sales Engineers to ensure the proposal process meets customer expectations, and are aligned with the Company's product portfolio, development, and sales goals.
  • Appropriately arrange and take the lead in proposal review(s), proposal clarification(s), and project kick-off meetings.
  • Adeptly serve in a technical sales capacity by conducting presentations to key customers and communicating business development opportunities.
  • Provide post-sales support to customers for drawings, solid models, and installations.
  • Continuously provide technical expertise and/or support related to manufacturing.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions, as needed.
  • Develop quality & EHS documentation and take appropriate actions to ensure compliance.
  • Perform project management functions, as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

Bachelor of Science in Engineering with concentration in Mechanical Engineering required.

Prior Project Engineering experience leading projects developing solutions to furnace control in the hot metals industry is strongly preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Mechanical Engineering Skills. Working knowledge and proficiency in application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Understanding of and experience with raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Working knowledge and ability to utilize design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Computer/Application Skills. Proficient computer skills and ability to use a variety of software application systems, including Microsoft Office products, Visio, and 3-D CAD system. Ability to learn and utilize Autodesk Inventor.

Travel. Ability to travel by land and air, both domestically and internationally, up to 20%. Valid US Passport or ability to obtain.

The minimum and maximum salaryrange for this full-time position is $72,000 - $108,000 + benefits. Relocation benefits may be available, if deemed applicable based on candidate location.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including but not limited tojob-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in this posted role reflect the base salary only and do not include bonus or benefits.
