Overview

The Office of Regulatory Relations (ORR) coordinates engagements and implementation with the firm's regulators. The office also drives strategic transformations across Goldman Sachs to strengthen regulatory engagement practices and provide central oversight of regulatory implementation. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to join a growing organization that will work together to protect the firm, provide effective challenge and be an agent of change.

In this role, you will execute high priority and complex projects for the firm by using best-in-class project management. You will be working on managing multiple live remediation programs which are complex and strategically important to the firm.

You will build new approaches and tools to help the firm plan and deliver effective program delivery. You will interface with a wide range of stakeholders to manage cross-divisional work. You will be building new plans, creating graphics and reporting, and standing up metrics to help senior leaders keep track of progress. You will work with multiple divisions to create accurate status reporting each week and to enhance how work is summarized and reported in governance forums.

This role is a Traditional Project Manager - Non Technical. This role will initially focus on regulatory deliverables where you will contribute to the delivery of a multi-year strategic initiative. By performing the role, you will acquire detailed knowledge of program management and of multiple areas within the firm. Longer term, you will also have the opportunity to take on other project roles in the ORR.

Responsibilities will include:

* Project planning and execution: develop and manage project plans for regulatory remediation efforts, including scope, timelines, resources, and deliverables

* Stakeholder management: coordinate with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and external consultants to facilitate remediation efforts and communicate progress

* Risk Management: identify and manage risks associated with remediation projects, implementing mitigation strategies as needed

* Audit Preparedness: ensure that remediation projects are prepared for internal and external audit, maintaining clear and comprehensive documentation of remediation activities

* Monitoring and Reporting: track project progress, prepare status reports, and present findings to senior management and stakeholders

* Documentation: maintain comprehensive documentation of remediation activities, including issue tracking, action plans, and outcomes

* Structuring ambiguous problems and taking action to solve them without complete information

* Preparing materials for working groups and committees, project dashboards, operating model diagrams, requirement specifications, test plans, etc.

* Conducing detailed problem tracking, resolution and completion of all actions and issues by their deadlines

* Communicating updates, statuses and timelines to stakeholders, and escalating items at risk

* Summarizing key results to senior management and addressing their queries

* Supporting teams with best practices, program-wide tools, dashboards and other enablers

Skills and Experience:

* Proven experience in project management is required. A background in consulting, chief of staff team, or COO functions is highly relevant

* Experience on regulatory compliance projects is desirable, or related fields. Experience in risk or remediation projects is highly desirable but not essential

* An ability to navigate the firm and work with a diverse range of stakeholder groups is essential. Working knowledge of GS's Global Markets business is an advantage

* Proven experience building new relationships to achieve stretch goals and consensus across divisions

* Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple projects and meet competing deadlines - deep project management skills are a must

* Drive, motivation and resilience - ability to handle multiple tasks, taking initiative to improve his / her own performance, working intensely towards goals and persisting in the face of obstacles

* Collaborative and team-oriented, encourages other team members and acknowledges others' contributions

* Exceptional attention to detail

* Strong written and oral communication skills with confidence and ability to create, structure and present messages to PMD level audiences

* Experience using analytical, quantitative, and MS Excel skills to create summary reports for leadership

* Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills

* Ability to coordinate activities with multiple interdependencies across a number of GS internal teams. You will be key in connecting various functions or teams and sharing information

* Creativity and innovation, with an ability to critically examine current processes to propose and develop improvements

* Experience in Smartsheets is a plus
