COMPANY PROFILE:

AgTexas Farm Credit Services serves and supports approximately 2,600 member/borrowers in areas of lending, insurance sales, appraisal, and/or leasing. Ten office locations can be found throughout the Association's 43-county trade territory, and the Association has a volume of approximately $3.2 billion. The lending portfolio consists of cotton, livestock, dairy, feed grains, real estate, and ag-related business loans. Additionally, the Association territory provides diversity in production and mortgage loans as well as commodities financed. Without strong financial backing farmers and ranchers will not survive, and people will not have food to eat or clothes to wear. AgTexas provides reliable credit and crop insurance to our member-owners, so they can feed and clothe the world.

PROFILE:

The Senior Vice President of Human Resources is located in Lubbock, TX with a salary that is negotiable, depending upon experience. For highly qualified candidates, some flexibility in location may be considered.

AgTexas is seeking a strategic HR leader to oversee daily HR operations while building the systems, structure, and long-term people strategy needed for our next stage of growth. This role plays a critical part in shaping how we attract, develop, organize, and retain talent as the organization scales.

The Senior Vice President, Human Resources leads all core HR functions including payroll, benefits, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, and employee relations. This role works in close partnership with the COO and executive leadership to shape organizational design, workforce planning, leadership development, performance standards, and long-range human capital strategy.

We are seeking a seasoned professional who has helped growing organizations move from informal processes to disciplined, scalable people systems while preserving culture and strengthening leadership capability. Clear, confident communication is essential in this role. The SVP will regularly communicate with both the executive team and the broader employee base, translating strategy into clear expectations and building alignment across the organization.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in business or human resource management, plus ten (10) or more years of progressive HR leadership experience. Must possess a strong background in growing organizations through transition of informal processes to disciplined, scalable people systems while preserving culture and strengthening leadership capability. Ideal candidate must possess strong strategic thinking skills combined with operational discipline, along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organization. Professional HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR) is preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Human Capital Strategy



  • Develop and lead a multi-year human capital strategy aligned with business goals and growth plans.


  • Partner with the COO and executive team on organizational structure, workforce planning, and succession strategy.


  • Provide strategic input on talent risks, leadership gaps, and long-term organizational effectiveness.


  • Establish clear performance management standards and accountability frameworks.


  • Use data and workforce analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and communicate insights clearly to leadership.


Learning and Development



  • Oversee company-wide learning and development strategy and execution.


  • Strengthen leadership development across management levels.


  • Improve manager capability in coaching, accountability, and performance conversations.


  • Ensure development initiatives are aligned with long-term workforce needs and measurable outcomes.


HR Operations



  • Oversee payroll, benefits, HRIS, onboarding, compliance, and policy governance.


  • Maintain strong documentation standards and risk management discipline.


  • Lead compensation administration and annual review cycles.


  • Manage HR vendors and related budgets with fiscal responsibility.


Talent Acquisition



  • Lead recruiting strategy across all locations.


  • Align hiring plans with long-term growth strategy and workforce design.


  • Strengthen onboarding and early tenure integration.


  • Build and maintain succession plans for key roles.
