General Machinist - Precision Manufacturing Location: Sturbridge, MA Pay: $35.00/hour We are seeking an experienced General Machinist to join a high-precision scientific manufacturing environment in Sturbridge, MA. This role supports R&D model shop operations and production manufacturing, producing tight-tolerance components for spectrometry, medical devices, aerospace, and advanced research applications. Ideal candidates have strong manual and CNC machining experience and thrive in a regulated, quality-driven setting. Key Responsibilities Machine high-precision components from stainless steel, aluminum, plastics, and specialty materials Independently set up, operate, and troubleshoot manual and CNC machining equipment Support prototype machining, R&D development, and full-scale production manufacturing Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications Program, edit, and optimize CNC machining programs as required Design, build, and modify tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions Perform preventative maintenance and maintain organized machine shop operations Monitor tooling and raw material inventory; communicate supply needs proactively Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to improve manufacturability and process efficiency Requirements 5+ years of experience in precision machining or model shop environments Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision Experience machining stainless steel, aluminum, plastics, and other industrial materials Hands-on experience with Hardinge Manual Lathe, Bridgeport Knee Mill, and Prototrak RMX Bed Mill Proficiency in blueprint reading, dimensional inspection, and tight-tolerance machining Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (medical device, aerospace, or similar preferred) Employee Benefits Medical, dental, vision, and pet insurance \| 401(k) Retirement Savings Plans \| Employee Assistance Program (EAP) \| Commuter/Parking Accounts \| People Perks \| Health Savings Account (HSA) \| AD & D Insurance If you are a skilled machinist looking for a competitive $35/hour opportunity in precision manufacturing, click "Apply Now" to take the next step in your career.
