Primary Responsibilities
Fiscal Management


  • Assist with budget preparation and short- and long-term financial planning; administer the district budget to ensure cost-effective operations.



  • Prepare budget amendments and conduct daily cash flow analysis for investments and payments.



  • Oversee bank reconciliations, vendor and payroll clearing accounts, and support internal and external audits.



  • Evaluate accounting systems and internal controls; recommend operational improvements.



  • Collaborate with district leadership on forecasting enrollment, staffing, facilities, and capital needs; conduct needs assessments to improve business operations.




Policy, Compliance & Reporting


  • Implement and ensure compliance with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and local board policies.



  • Maintain required financial reports and documentation and follow district safety and emergency procedures.




Purchasing & Asset Management


  • Maintain accurate asset inventories and replacement schedules; oversee surplus equipment disposal.



  • Manage bid preparation, analysis, and vendor recommendations.




Personnel & Supervisory Responsibilities


  • Develop and update job descriptions; recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff.



  • Recommend personnel actions and provide training and performance improvement plans.



  • Directly supervise the Purchasing Coordinator, Payroll Coordinator, PEIMS Coordinator, and Child Nutrition Supervisor.




Qualifications
Education


  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or educational administration required.




Experience


  • Minimum of four years of experience in school business management or a public-sector organization.




Knowledge & Skills


  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, accounting, payroll, and financial systems.



  • Proficient in financial analysis, policy implementation, and reporting.



  • Excellent organizational, communication, and personnel management skills
