Shipping and Receiving Coordinator opportunity at our Maxton, NC plant Silgan Containers, North America's leading metal packaging manufacturer, is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Coordinator to join our Maxton, NC plant. What will you do: The Coordinator of Shipping and Receiving has two key areas of responsibly: Shipping: * Verify all products are free of damage and defects * Mark all boxes and skids properly * Compare counts with the packing list to ensure all items are correct and are properly packaged * Assemble packing materials * Inventory all packing materials and accurately report to purchasing for purposes of reorder * Maintain a clean and organized warehouse * Meet with department staff to ensure that objectives are being met * Assist in preparing outbound shipments to vendors * Create electronic Bill of Ladding (BOL) * Schedule outbound trucks * Process UPS shipments Receiving: * Load and unload trucks * Inspect parts for damage * Check to insure quantities and part numbers match the packing list * Label parts with part number * Put parts in proper location * Process receipt in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system * Other duties assigned by the supervisor What you bring: * High School Diploma or GED * 2+ years of experience, experience in shipping/receiving preferred * Can do, will do attitude * Effective written and verbal communication skills * Ability to interpret drawings and equipment manuals * Good computer literate with MRP knowledge, effective use of Microsoft Office Suite * Ability to safely and consistently lift 50 lbs. * OSHA certified for the safe operation of material handling equipment, preferred Why Silgan Containers: Silgan Containers is more than just the largest producer of metal food packaging in North America-we are a company that builds careers, innovation, and sustainability.
