Job Description:

Director - Finance - The Auto Club Group

What you will do:

Responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of financial planning,budgetingand forecasting processes for supportedbusinessareas.Ensures accuracy and integrity of analytical reviewsand critical reporting,planningand forecasting.

  • Directs and coordinates financial and budget activities.Prepares and reviews monthly financial results for senior management, analyzes profit andlossstatementsandprepares analyses.
  • Preparation of short-term and long -term forecasts
  • Usesfinancial data toassistin guiding business initiatives by reviewing historical trends and forecasting future trends, then sharing the dataand recommendationswith managers and executives.
  • Oversees the creation of complex business models, cost/benefitanalysesand operational metrics toassistmanagement in evaluating and directing business performance.
  • Provides guidance anddirects/maintainsCost/Benefit and ROImodelingon major initiatives.Responsible for working with stakeholders and reporting on progress (mid and post-implementation) on major spends
  • Benchmarking key performance indicators to outside companies for major functional area
  • Coordinates costefficiencyactivities and partners with cross-functional teams in its completion
  • Seeksmore efficient ways of meeting reporting requirements and running analyses.Enhances the automation of reporting, working closely with system automation teams.
  • Completes special projects and reporting as required.Ensures all assigned financial projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet quality standards.
  • Leadsstaff in the creation of ad hoc reports and analyses as well as the distribution of these reports to management.
  • Leadsprocessof developing and enhancing Web applications to share financial data with departments.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages professional Accounting and Financial Analysis staff

How you will benefit:

Director - Finance will earn a competitive salary of $140,000 - $170,000 annually with annual bonus potential based on performance.

We're looking for candidates who:

Required Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting,mathematicsor a related field

Experience:

  • Strong financial background and functional leadership experience
  • Leading the development and implementation of complex corporate projects including the preparation of cost justifications,proposalsand risk assessments.
  • Management experience to include providing work direction and guidance, organization and planning, coordinating and delegating responsibility and budget preparation

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of supported businesses and their businessobjectives, including business planningandforecasting
  • Ability to evaluate complex business processes and understand the interdependencies between components
  • Developmentand useof complex financial/mathematical models using macros and other advanced spreadsheet applications.
  • Developing and applying cost accounting principles and methods
  • Advising and developing technical staff in the application and development of emerging budget,forecastand financial analysis techniques
  • Excellent written and oral communication, diplomacy and negotiation skill andability tobuild consensus between business/financial operations and project teams
  • Ability to complete or evaluate complex models and communicate concisely to executives and Board of Directors
  • Strong project management skills Includes analyzing and defining resource and skill requirements forprojects,overseeingand guidinginitiatives to completion, providingclear directives and effectively communicatinggoals andobjectivetoteam, andcommunicatingand transitioningcorporate/financial goals into individual plans
  • Report/proposal preparation and presentation
  • Interacting with executives in the organization, outside vendors,consultantsand/or regulators with a high degree of credibility and professionalism

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field and/or professional designation (e.g.Certified Financial Analyst, Certified Managerial Accountant or Certified Public Accountant) or other similar designation asdeterminedby position.
  • Six Sigma or equivalent training or experience
  • Experience in/with ACG business lines of business and operations
  • Providing reporting,analysisand maintenance of corporate systems for ACG Management Reporting and Budgeting/Planningand forecasting
  • Managing P&Land otherreports for Senior Management and the Board of Directors
  • Property/Casualty insurance and/or loss reserving experience
  • Quarterly and Annual Statement preparation experience
  • Knowledge with general ledger software (i.e.PeopleSoft, Workday, etc.)
  • Experience setting up proper controls and reporting mechanisms to guaranteeaccuratefinancial data reporting.
  • Data visualization and coding experience

Work Environment

This is a hybrid work arrangement (time spent in office and remote). Depending on the employee's role and leadership's assessment, some employees will come in to an ACG facility on a weekly basis, a monthly basis, or on an "as needed" basis for key meetings and collaborative activities. Most employees will be required to come into the office, at a minimum, for important departmental meetings or team building events.
