Introduction

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Assistant Manager located within the Emergency Communication Center, Administrative and Technical Services Division at the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Emergency Communications Center. This position is onsite only, not eligible for tele-work, working 37.50 hours per week Monday through Friday.

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, acts as back-up to the ECC Manager and manages/supervises day-to-day operations within the Emergency Communication Center of the Emergency Communication Center (ECC). This position supervises staff in the absence of the manager; assists in hiring and training employees; assists with payroll tasks; assists with developing the budget; provides support for strategic planning; manages emergency call operations; assists in creating and amending policies and procedures; serves as Coordinator for the Emergency Dispatch Program; and ensures compliance within assigned area. This position manages staff in the absence of the ECC Manager and provides daily ECC oversight.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Manages operations in the Emergency Communication Center; establishes and implements ECC strategic goals, objectives, and processes to support public safety department's strategic plans and the Board of Supervisor's approved Service Plan.
* Provides supervision and scheduling of personnel at ECC; communicates effectively with all personnel.
* Assists with recruitment and hiring processes.
* Assists the Department with the development of the budget.
* Assists with planning the short and long-term strategic direction of the Department; provides leadership to ensure Department's goals are achieved.

Hiring salary will be commensurate with experience.


Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree; four (4) years of directly related work experience; preferably with at least two (2) years of prior supervisory or lead level experience in a public safety communications center; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must successfully complete criminal background investigation, fingerprinting, and DMV checks (to include psychological evaluation, physical examination, drug screening and polygraph examination for LCSO only) prior to employment.

Satisfactory completion and maintenance of all required training and certifications of the Public Safety Telecommunicator.

NENA Center Manager Certification Program (CMCP) preferred within one year of hire.

Institute for Credible Leadership Development (ICLD) within 1 year of hire.
