What You Will Do:
GFT is seeking an experienced Change Management Coordinator to join our Construction Services team in Fairfax area. At GFT, we're not just engineering the future; we're meticulously building it. What you'll be challenged to do: The Change Management Coordinator is responsible for facilitating timely processing of change orders from initiation to closeout. This role supports the identification and evaluation of potential change orders, scope development, preparation of Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates, funding coordination, contractor proposal review, cost analysis, negotiations, and final modification closeout. The coordinator maintains comprehensive change order records and provides regular status updates to internal and external stakeholders. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Facilitate the change order process from initiation through closeout, including drafting change initiation documents, scopes of work, and pre-negotiation and negotiation summary narratives.
- Review Procore transmittals to identify Notices of Potential Change and proposals, analyze contract entitlement, and coordinate merit evaluations and change justifications.
- Submit purchase requisition requests and ensure change orders align with approved funding sources.
- Enter and track change orders in the Client's Construction Change Order Management (CCOM) system, monitor approval status, and maintain supporting documentation.
- Update Project Change Order (PCO) logs as statuses change, distribute weekly status reports to project team members, and maintain change order forecasts and contingency tracking.
- Lead and/or support weekly and bi-weekly internal and contractor change order review meetings.
- Review contractor proposals for completeness and accuracy, request revisions as necessary, and support cost and schedule impact evaluations.
- Coordinate independent cost estimates and schedule analyses with schedulers and cost engineers to validate impacts.
- Attend, coordinate, and lead meetings related to potential and active change orders, and lead negotiations with contractors to achieve fair and reasonable settlement pricing.
- Establish and maintain change order files in SharePoint, Procore, and CCOM in accordance with department standards.
- Perform periodic file audits and complete PCO checklists to ensure audit readiness and proper closeout documentation.
- Support continuous process improvement efforts to increase efficiency and standardization of change order management practices.

Education | Experience:
What you will bring to our firm:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited university; and
- A minimum of four (4) years of demonstrated experience with construction and/or transportation projects; or
- In lieu of degree, equivalent work experience of at least six (6) years of experience in change management, project controls, or a similar field.
Experience | Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Suite applications including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Teams, SharePoint, etc.
- Basic understanding of cost estimating, labor rates, and markups.
- Strong written documentation and technical writing skills.
- Ability to manage high volumes of change orders simultaneously.
- Confidence facilitating meetings and following up on action items.
- Attention to detail and document control discipline.
What we prefer you bring:
- General experience with change order management within the construction industry.
- Comfortable in a field and office work environment.
- Ability to learn new systems and processes easily and interact with a variety of stakeholders.
- Bonus if familiar with construction standards and have experience using Procore Project Management Software System.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
