About the Opportunity:

As a Quality Engineer I, you will provide support to operational and development programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects utilizing engineering and problem-solving skills.This role also supports the development and implementation of quality processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. As Quality Engineer I you will also assist with inspections, testing, non-conformance management, and documentation.

Onsite: Malden MA

Responsibilities:

  • Support writing procedure, collecting and analyzing data.
  • Support in implementing and maintaining the quality management system. (AS9100, AS13100, NADCAP)
  • Support the inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Utilize Quality Engineering tools like PFMEA, Measurement System Analysis, and Control Plans tomonitorand improve internal processes.
  • Work with cross-functional teams toidentifythe root causes of quality issues andassistin implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Assistin evaluating supplier performance and quality, supporting supplier audits, andassistingwith the development of quality improvement plans.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and other departments to resolve quality issues and improve overall product quality.
  • Participate in continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen, LEAN, etc.
  • Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply withthe relevant requirements of the quality management system and customer requirements.
  • Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering, Material Science or Metallurgy
  • Must be employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • At least 2-3 years of quality engineering experience
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace experience.
  • Understanding of quality principles and methodologies.
  • Experience and training in quality systems including AS9100 and NADCAP
  • Proficiencyin quality management systems, process validation, and customer specifications.
  • Experience working withCAD,QMSand ERPsoftware.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to guide junior team members effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams and with customers.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able tofrequentlysit,standand walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) isrequiredon the shop floor
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may berequiredto accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
