Position Title: Project Engineer
Wage: Based on Experience We are partnering with a leading investment casting manufacturer in Hartford, WI to identify an experienced Senior Project Engineer I. This full-time, direct-hire role supports complex part launches from initial design through production approval, including tooling, fixturing, gauging, routings, scheduling, cost analysis, and customer communication. Casting experience is required for this role. This position is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, highly technical manufacturing environment, enjoys leading cross-functional projects, and is confident in both decision-making and customer interaction. Position Overview: The Senior Project Engineer I manages multiple part number projects across several facilities, supporting new product development and process improvement initiatives. This role also serves as a mentor to less-experienced engineers and may represent engineering leadership in key meetings or customer interactions. Project Engineer Responsibilities: - Manage all part number project activities from concept through production approval, including tooling, gauge design, routing, and cost analysis - Lead APQP processes for assigned part numbers and ensure all deliverables are completed on time - Provide mentorship to Project Engineers I and II and support intern development programs - Represent engineering in plant leadership and operational review meetings; may stand in for the plant manager as needed - Manage customer technical communication, including presentations, seminars, and issue resolution - Investigate and resolve scrap or defect-related issues - Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing procedures - Support process/manufacturing engineering activities during new part development - Participate in audits, regulatory reviews, customer visits, and registrar activities - Contribute to technical R&D and company advancement initiatives - Prioritize customer satisfaction and lead issue-resolution activities during line-down or urgent scenarios - Coordinate with internal teams to ensure quality, timing, and cost targets are met - Act as an influencer within plant leadership to support continuous improvement and OKR (OpEx/CI) initiatives Qualifications for Project Engineer: - Bachelor's degree in an engineering field (mechanical, materials, industrial, etc.) - 5+ years of experience in a foundry or investment casting environment - Experience with CAD tools; FEA and Minitab preferred - Strong understanding of tooling, material behavior, and manufacturing practices - Familiarity with ISO/IATF/AS quality systems - Experience with 3D solid modeling software (ex.
