Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer II
Wage: Based on Experience Our recruiting firm is working with a leading manufacturing organization in Hartford, WI to identify an experienced Manufacturing Engineer II. This full-time, direct-hire role focuses on managing production part projects, engineering changes, process improvements, tooling, and customer communication across multiple facilities. This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys problem-solving, improving manufacturing methods, and managing technical projects in fast-paced environments such as aerospace, automotive, defense, and medical. Position Overview: The Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for leading production part number projects-including engineering change notifications (ECNs), transfers, tooling, gauging, routings, cost analysis, dimensional approval, and customer correspondence. This role requires strong technical capability, manufacturing experience, and the confidence to serve as a primary technical contact for internal teams and customers. Manufacturing Engineer II Responsibilities: - Manage mid-level production part number projects, including part redesigns, complex mold setups, secondary operations, and subcontract coordination across multiple facilities - Support projects within advanced markets such as automotive, aerospace, defense, and medical - Create customer-required quality documentation and resolve discrepancies or gaps - Provide support on customer complaints and quality-related investigations - Independently evaluate and improve manufacturing processes using sampling, operator feedback, and customer input - Participate in internal advancement and continuous improvement projects - Apply knowledge of casting processes to enhance performance in tooling design, melt operations, dip/dewax, and heat treat - Determine process steps, tooling, gauging, materials, and supplies needed for efficient and cost-effective manufacturing - Manage all assigned part number projects to meet customer expectations for quality, delivery, and communication - Serve as a knowledgeable technical resource for manufacturing leadership and cross-functional teams - Provide support during line-down situations and urgent production needs - Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards Qualifications for Manufacturing Engineer II: - Bachelor's degree in an engineering field and 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience - CAD experience preferred - Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, specifications, work plans and technical documents - Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface professionally with customers and suppliers - Solid mathematical competency, including understanding fractions, ratios, percentages and basic statistics - Strong problem-solving and reasoning abilities in environments with limited standardization - Knowledge of tooling, materials, machining, and general manufacturing practices - Familiarity with ISO/IATF/AS quality system requirements - Ability or willingness to learn 3D solid modeling software (SolidCast, NX/Unigraphics) - Understanding of GD&T and continuous flow manufacturing principles - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite - Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands for handling objects or tools - Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs Why This Opportunity Stands Out: - Direct-hire, stable career opportunity with a reputable manufacturing organization - Exposure to advanced manufacturing markets and complex part/process challenges - Opportunity to lead meaningful engineering projects with a high level of ownership - Collaborative environment with strong cross-functional support - Emphasis on professional growth, technical development, and continuous improvement | |
