Senior Mobile Application Developer

Our Corporate office is currently searching for a Mobile Application developer. This role will design, develop, and maintain web solutions for the various mobile apps of Waste Connections. The ideal candidate should have experience in web development and web services development. The developer should have great communication skills and be able to discuss and develop requirements with multiple levels of staff from corporate and field locations. This is a multi-faceted role where you will be supporting multiple stakeholders. You will need to be flexible and be able to switch "hats" seamlessly.

Job Description Summary

Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions. Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. Portions of the job requires working directly with shareholder resolve business issues by architecting solutions. Must be able to work with a team and individually.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintain legacy websites, suggesting improvements where needed, assisting in migrating to newer technologies

• Develop a large internal Financial Web Application using Angular and ASP.NET Core

• Assist in process improvement and develop new ways of assisting stakeholders and customers

• Assist in peer review and help provide solutions to better internal development processes

• Provide support to field personnel in the troubleshooting and resolution of a variety of financial applications.

• Working tightly with the Corporate Maintenance Department to simplify and optimize their core processes.

• Assist in developing solutions for innovative process improvement

• Training end users on financial applications.

• Assists in gathering requirements for new projects

• Assists in communicating with Corporate Accounting, Finance and IT

• Building and maintaining T-SQL queries and stored procedures for data analysis and data extract. SSIS package experience a plus.

• AWS Cloud development and Containerized development are a plus. (ECS, Fargate, EC2, S3, Docker

• Must be able work through the full cycle of a project and present deliverables to its respective audience.

Ideal Candidates will have:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field. (Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline)

• 5 years working in a web development role or capacity

• Knowledge of web technologies - both back and front-end development including, but not limited to VB, ASP.NET, C#, CSS, HTML, Bootstrap, PrimeNG, Javascript, Angular, Blazor Server, REST APIs, LINQ, T-SQL, VBA is a plus

• Knowledge of web-related technologies such as analytics, security, content delivery networks (CDNs)

• Ability to adapt to the latest technologies that the team is working with.

• Excellent analytical and critical thinking, and communication skills

• An interest in and ability to understand financial reporting, accounting concepts and related accounting data. (Accounting experience a plus)

• Experience developing/troubleshooting solutions using MS SQL Server.

• Advanced skills in MS Excel and related accounting business systems are a plus
