Aquent is partnering with a pioneering leader in automotive technology, a company that is redefining the future of mobility through cutting-edge innovation. This organization is currently undergoing an exciting transformation, bringing the core design of its central compute units in-house, operating with the agility and innovation of a top-tier design firm. This strategic shift has created a unique opportunity to directly influence the next generation of advanced vehicle systems.

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic individual to join a dynamic team, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration and flawless operation of sophisticated hardware and software. This is an incredible chance to dive deep into intricate challenges, lead critical investigations, and bridge the gap between diverse engineering disciplines, directly contributing to the success of groundbreaking in-house designs. Your contributions will be essential in shaping the future of connected and intelligent vehicles.

As a crucial member of the compute and connectivity department, you will be instrumental in diagnosing and resolving complex issues across the entire design spectrum. You will collaborate closely with a diverse group of hardware and software engineers, driving root cause analysis and ensuring timely resolution of critical bugs. This role offers the unique opportunity to apply your hands-on lab skills and design knowledge to real-world challenges, fostering innovation and contributing to the development of robust, high-performance central compute units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage and provide expert support for complex bugs identified by multiple internal and external software teams.
  • Lead structured root cause investigations spanning hardware, signal integrity, power integrity, and software interactions.
  • Debug high-speed interfaces, including DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, and serializer/deserializer links.
  • Support high-power design troubleshooting, encompassing PMICs, regulators, power sequencing, and thermal behavior.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to audio subsystems, clocking, and mixed-signal interactions.
  • Organize next steps, meticulously track actions, and drive issues to timely closure.
  • Actively engage in hands-on lab work, utilizing tools such as oscilloscopes, high-speed probing equipment, and power measurement devices, and coordinate board bring-up and rework activities.
  • Maintain clear documentation with strong traceability and concise hardware/software communication.
  • Assist with diagnostic documentation for hardware-centric tests, including Hardware Verification, Design Verification, and Production Validation.
  • Act as a vital bridge between hardware, systems, and distributed software teams.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Proven hands-on experience working in a lab environment focused on debug or verification.
  • Demonstrated circuit design experience.
  • Exceptional ability to debug complex issues and conduct thorough root cause analysis.
  • Experience with high-speed interface debugging (e.g., DDR, PCIe, Ethernet).
  • Familiarity with high-power design troubleshooting (e.g., PMICs, regulators, power sequencing).
  • Experience investigating audio subsystems, clocking, and mixed-signal interactions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of bridging technical gaps between diverse engineering teams.
  • Ability to organize, track, and drive issues to closure efficiently.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining clear technical documentation.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience with advanced diagnostic documentation for hardware testing.
  • Background in supporting multiple software teams.
  • Understanding of hardware/software interactions in complex embedded systems.
