Job Description




As a Unarmed Security Officer - Retail Site in Sunnyvale, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will greet guests, assist with directions and questions, and communicate clearly with store teams to support access control and incident response. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and store associates by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail and mall setting.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout common areas, entrances, loading areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns for reporting.
  • Monitor access points and observe for suspicious behavior, shoplifting indicators, and policy violations, and coordinate with store teams and/or law enforcement when appropriate.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs, and communicate relevant updates during shift handoff to support consistent post coverage.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
