Job Description




As a Armed Security Officer - Driver Patrol in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a residential community, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support residents, guests, and staff with clear communication and customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license under AU driver policy requirements and an Armed Guard Card or License. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of residential buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter gates to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Control access at vehicle and pedestrian entry points by verifying identification and/or authorization, monitoring visitor activity, and documenting deliveries and contractor entry.
  • Complete detailed reports on patrol activity, observed hazards, and incident response, and communicate updates to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
