We are seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer/Solutions Architect to join our project team at a major Federal agency to help design, develop, and implement solutions in anticipation of an upcoming award.

U.S. citizenship is required for this role. In addition, the selected applicant must submit to a government background investigation and be favorably adjudicated before their first day.

The selected candidate will ideally live within commuting distance of Washington, D.C. as there may be occasional onsite work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Provides analysis, design, and integration support for infrastructure systems, including cloud-based services like AWS for hosting enterprise offerings (e.g., Atlassian Suite).
  • Implements CI/CD pipelines and integrates with services to streamline workflows, accelerate software delivery, and ensure consistent configuration management across environments.
  • Monitors and manages cloud infrastructure using tools like AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana to ensure high performance, availability, and uptime.
  • Applies security best practices to infrastructure, including secure access controls, data encryption, and integration with AWS services to safeguard systems from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
  • Works with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, ECS) to scale and manage resource-intensive tasks effectively.
  • Performs systems engineering studies and analyses, ensuring infrastructure systems meet business and operational requirements.
  • Assesses and recommends new technologies, tools, and processes to improve system performance, security, and efficiency.
  • Provides technical support for troubleshooting system issues and ensures corrective actions are taken to maintain system reliability.
  • Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, and SAFe.
  • Provide team specific training as needed.


REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:



  • At least 10 years of relevant experience systems engineering experience
  • 5 years of solutions architecture experience
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure tools, such as AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Splunk, etc.
  • Experience with Cerberus FTP
  • Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker
  • Experience with orchestration platforms, such as Kubernetes
  • Agile certification


EDUCATION:



  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required; an additional four years of relevant experience is acceptable in lieu of degree

Salary: $155,000-$165,000

All individuals being hired to work for TCG must submit to, and successfully pass, a pre-employment background investigation prior to reporting for their first day of work. The pre-employment background investigation will include verification of employment and education, as well as, a criminal and DMV check.

Additional documentation and background checks will also be required for positions that require clearance from the Federal government.
