This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.

The Engineer I, Manufacturing Science & Technology Engineering, is primarily responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating new production materials, equipment, and technologies before mass production. You will conduct research, solve production cost and quality issues, and develop standard procedures to support efficient production processes and project goals at our Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX. Specifics Include:

  • Preparing and maintaining Computer Software Validation documents for applicable applications
  • Executing Operational Qualifications using GMP for applicable applications
  • Troubleshooting BOMs and Router issues
  • Support production with any issue related to Drawings, Production Planning System (PPS) MES, and other applicable applications
  • Provide CAD Drawing updates for Component Specifications and Label Templates
  • Understanding and approving drawings for new releases and revisions
  • Support Mass Replace related activities
  • Apply technical knowledge to perform tasks and support project goals effectively
    Develop, implement, and evaluate new production materials, equipment, and technologies before mass production
  • Conduct manufacturing research and development to solve production cost and quality issues and ensure production efficiency
  • Evaluate project capacity for production process design and development
  • Develop and implement standard manufacturing procedures to reduce overall costs and determine product quality standards
  • Follow procedures with some decision-making authority, requiring job-related training, attention to detail, and reliability
  • Contribute to the overall compliance of the organization and commit to continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training.
  • Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization.
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST
  • Location: Onsite
  • Travel Requirements: 0 - 10%
  • Relocation Assistance: None
