xLab is responsible for building and operating advanced prototypes at Aerospace by developing concepts to solve hard problems and then taking those concepts through the full development cycle to deliver cutting edge capabilities to our customers. The Office of Product Management within xLab is responsible for providing quality assurance and product assurance guidance and support that integrates industry best practices into an approach tailored for prototyping, continually adapting to meet project and customer needs

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Project Manager III who will be responsible for identifying, planning, and implementing quality initiatives such that the organization's top/bottom line is impacted through improved productivity, utilization, technology intervention.

This position is 100% onsite in El Segundo, CA.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Responsible for recommending, designing and overseeing successful execution of quality audits and assessments including quality process development and audit execution.

  • Identifies audit needs based on corporate practices and OPM guidelines

  • Develops audit plans and processes to ensure proper execution.

  • Performs quality audits on laboratory products, including subcontractor and vendor-provided products. Documents discrepancies and reviews/approves corrective and preventive actions

  • Performs quality process audits of laboratory activities, including assembly and subsystem-level product build and test processes with a focus on standardization and process improvement

  • Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management.

  • Provides program implementation and scheduling for assigned work and product teams

  • Reviews OPM and corporate standards and operating procedures and provides improvement recommendations to management.

  • Perform audits, inspections and reviews of in-process spaceflight prototype systems, subsystems, purchased assemblies and other electronic and mechanical components ensuring compliance with established specifications and industry standards.

  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and resolve quality issues and identify process improvements.

What You Need to be Successful:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Eight years of experience in electronicor electrical component or assembly-level testing and characterization

  • Experience in quality inspection and quality assurance policies

  • Experience in creating technical documentation, including test procedures, user manuals and process review documentation

  • Knowledge and implementation of IPCJ-STD-001H quality standards plus space and military addendum

  • Knowledge and implementation of IPC J-WHMA-A-620D acceptance standards for cable and wire harness assemblies

  • Experience working in engineering teams, providing training and oversight to new team members and leading implementation of engineering design and build standards

How You Can Stand Out:

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or production control/management

  • Experience in engineering design of electrical or electronic circuits, assemblies, subassemblies

  • Experience implementing ISO quality standards

  • Integrated product team leadership

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
